Live and Laugh with dementia: The essential guide to maximising quality of life is a new book written by Associate Professor Lee-Fay Low which aims to help those diagnosed with dementia live good and happy lives. In this episode, I am chatting with Lee-Fay Low, who is Associate Professor in Ageing and Health at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Sydney and a leading researcher in the field of dementia care. Her research interests include helping people with dementia from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, looking into best community care practices for people with dementia, and non-pharmacological interventions in residential aged care facilities. Some of Lee-Fay's current projects include: We think you can dance! Grandfriends and LEAP for life. In this episode, I chat to Lee-Fay about why she is passionate about helping those living with dementia and improving the quality of dementia care in Australia.We also chat about you about getting research into practice and how a research trial is then turned into something that can be used on a larger scale. Lee-Fay also gives advice to up and coming researchers in the field who want to persue a career in dementia research.
